SUMMARY:Sydney Summer Series: Weekly mini-rogaines!
DESCRIPTION:Hey all\,\n\nKeen to try some navigation without committing to
a full day in the bush? The Sydney Summer Series is a lovely easygoing way
to get started. Each event is a 45-minute challenge: use an orienteering
map to find checkpoints\, plan your own route\, and see how many points yo
 u can collect before the time’s up.\n\nYou can walk\, jog or run\, and t
 hey will happily teach you some basics if you're a first-timer! It’s a f
un way to practice reading a map and making route choices - very handy ski
lls if you’re curious about giving a Rogaine a go! Also also\, the event
s are located all around Sydney\, so you get to explore so many new parks
and neighbourhoods along the way.\n\nThe 2026/7 season runs every Wednesda
y afternoon until April (daylight savings). This is an event run by the Sy
dney Summer Series folk\, not an UNSWOC trip\, but I think many of you wou
 ld be keen.\n&nbsp\;\nWhat is a rogaine?\nEssentially a treasure hunt in t
he bush! You’ll get to put your navigation skills to the test\, using on
ly a map (and compass if you want) to find marked locations to score point
 s. Here's an example of the map from yesterday:\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n&nbsp
\;\nCount me in!\nCheck out the event details and location schedule. You c
an arrive any time from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. To enter\, follow the Eventor li
nk on their website for the specific event that you want to attend. Entry
 is $15 if you're under 21yo\, otherwise $20. Prebookings recommended but n
ot necessary\, you can just show up on the day :)\n\nIf you have any quest
ions\, shoot me an email: president@unswoc.org
