SUMMARY:[FULL] SUNDAY BL – Lower Wollangambe Canyon
DESCRIPTION:You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend 
 these trips. If you get rejected then you can sign up for another trip\, t
 his just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that 
 as the weather is unpredictable\, trip leaders may need to alter trips acc
 ordingly.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPlease read the entire post and answer all questio
 ns before signing up.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nHi all!\n\nMargot and I (Katie) are r
 unning a trip on Sunday of Boree Log to Wollangambe Canyon section 2 at Mt
  Wilson. Despite this canyon having no abseils\, it will be a long day (6-
 8 hours)\, with lots of swimming (2.5 km)\, scrambling and potential for r
 ock jumps.\n\nParticipants need to be competent swimmers\, good at handlin
 g cold water\, and prepared (mentally) for some long walks in and out of t
 he canyon (320 m ascent).\n\nInfo about the canyon can be found here!\n\n

 ing gear provided at Boree Log event (If you have personal gear it is help
 ful to bring this along):\n\n 	Drybag*\n 	Wetsuit*\n 	Helmet*\n\n\n\n\n 	C
 anyoning gear not provided:\n\n 	Emergency blanket (You must carry one on 
 every club canyoning trip. You must buy one from the gear cupboard for $5 
 cash or most outdoor stores)\n 	Backpack that can fit ALL your gear inside
  and that can get wet.\n 	Lilo or inflatable tube to float down the river 
 on\, be prepared for it to pop and make sure it is lightweight as you will
  need to carry it in and out (you can find cheap ones from Kmart)\n\n\n\n\
 n 	Clothing:\n\n 	Enclosed shoes with good grip\n 	Hat\, sunglasses &amp\;
  sunscreen\n 	Wool socks\n 	Boardshorts to wear on top of wetsuit (compuls
 ory to protect the club wetsuits)\n 	Thermals to wear under your wetsuit (
 optional\, but helpful)\n 	NO COTTON!\n\n\n 	Food:\n\n 	1.5L of water in b
 ottles.\n 	Substantial lunch (pack it in a waterproof container\, and make
  sure it’s vaguely crush-proof)\n 	Snacks (chocolate or something nice t
 o share!)\n\n\n 	Miscellaneous:\n\n 	Any personal medicine (asthma puffer\
 , Epipen etc)\n 	A pair of thongs/flipflops (jandals if you're a kiwi like
  me) to leave in the car (since your shoes will get wet)\n 	Phone or camer
 a for photos (optional\, and only if you’re prepared for it to get wet i
 f your drybag leaks! Bring a ziploc bag or two to protect it)\n\n\n\nIf yo
