SUMMARY:SUNDAY BL - DONKEY MOUNTAIN - Hike
DESCRIPTION:You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend
these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected
you can then sign up for another trip\, this just makes it easier for vol
unteer trip leaders.\n\n\n\nSunday of Boree Log\; a time of much regret at
your abilities to gauge how many standard drinks are in the Punch of Puni
shment. But fear not! Caity and I are your salvation\, for we are leading
an expedition of curious hikers to Donkey Mountain. This isn’t your typi
cal hike\; nay\, we are the heroic Theseus\, venturing deep into our labyr
inth of mountainous rock features in search for the Minotaur/Donkey. But w
e’re not preoccupied with slaying mythical creatures\; we’re smashing
out some good rock scrambling and satisfying general explorative curiosity
\, although that being said\, hopefully we aren’t visited by the mythica
 l Blue Mountains Black Panther …\n\nANYWAY\, I digress. Basically\, we a
re going to leave the campsite Sunday morning by 10am (ish) and drive to
close to the mountain. Then\, we will be spending the rest of the day nav
igating around and simply enjoying the outdoors\, eventually heading strai
ght back to Sydney by 5pm.\n\nNOTE: To get to this wonderland you first m
ust climb to the top of Donkey Mountain. This is a STEEP and arduous hill\
, so a HIGH level of fitness is paramount. However\, this strenuous climb
is totally worth it\, because once we are up we can spend the whole day ex
ploring the labyrinth of wonders.\n\nFor those who are keen\, please brin
g at least the following hiking gear:\n\n Head-torch – Very important.
If we get stuck in the dark you will have a horrible time descending\n S
unscreen – Spring is here and so is the Australian sun. Make sure you b
ring lots of sunscreen and apply every few hours!\n Water – Minimum 2L\
 n Lunch – You must provide your OWN lunch.\n Snacks – We’ll be d
oing a lot of exercise\, so make sure you bring lots of snacks to keep you
r energy levels up! Bring things like nuts\, fruit\, dried fruit\, lollies
 \, biscuits\, chocolate\, muesli bars\, etc.\n Shoes – Hiking shoes or
boots with good grip\n Appropriate clothes – Hat\, light clothes (you
will get hot!)\, a jumper and raincoat in case of bad weather.\n First Ai
d Kit – If you have one.\n\nIn the comment please let us know if you ha
ve a car &amp\; how many seats\, and have a read through Sam May's incredi
ble trip report to tell us your favourite feature name on the Donkey Mount
ain map (so we know you've read this far):\n\n\nhttp://unswoc.org/wordpres
