SUMMARY:[FULL] SUNDAY BL – HAMPDEN BRIDGE TO BENDEELA kayak grade 1/2
DESCRIPTION:You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend 
 these trips. If you get rejected then you can sign up for another trip\, t
 his just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that 
 as the weather is unpredictable\, trip leaders may need to alter trips acc
 ordingly.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPlease read the entire post and answer all questio
 ns before signing up.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nHi all!\n\nSam and I (Katie) are runni
 ng a trip on Sunday of Boree Log to kayak Hampden bridge to Bendeela camps
 ite (flow dependent). This is an intermediate kayaking trip as flow depend
 ent there will be grade 1/2 rapids (fast sections of rapid flow where you 
 may be unstable in your boat).\n\nParticipants need to be competent swimme
 rs and kayakers and good at handling cold water. You don't need to be able
  to roll a kayak but previous kayaking experience is a necessity.\n\n\n\nP
 hoto cred: Kangaroo Valley Safaris\n\n 	Kayaking gear provided at Boree Lo
 g event (If you have personal gear it is helpful to bring this along):\n\n
  	Helmet\n 	White water kayak + spray skirt (and maybe a raft if we can ge
 t fixed)\n 	Life jacket\n 	Paddle\n\n\n\n\n 	Kayaking gear not provided:\n
 \n 	Emergency blanket (You must carry one on every club canyoning trip. Yo
 u must buy one from the gear cupboard for $5 cash or most outdoor stores)\
 n 	Dry bags that can fit ALL your gear inside and can fit inside the kayak
  (the club only has a couple of drybags so we can't guarantee any for you\
 n 	Wetsuit/thermal to keep warm (the club has some but these are mostly to
  canyon)\n\n\n\n\n 	Clothing:\n\n 	Hat\, sunglasses &amp\; sunscreen\n 	Wo
 ol socks\n 	Thermals to wear under your life jacket\n 	A windbreaker for i
 f it gets cold\n 	NO COTTON!\n\n\n\n\n 	Food:\n\n 	1.5L of water in bottle
 s.\n 	Substantial lunch (pack it in a waterproof container\, and make sure
  it’s vaguely crush-proof)\n 	Snacks (chocolate or something nice to sha
 re!)\n\n\n 	Miscellaneous:\n\n 	Any personal medicine (asthma puffer\, Epi
 pen etc)\n 	A pair of thongs/flipflops (jandals if you're a kiwi like me) 
 to leave in the car\n 	Phone or camera for photos (optional\, and only if 
 you’re prepared for it to get wet if your drybag leaks! Bring a ziploc b
