SUMMARY:SATURDAY BL - MT PIDDINGTON Beginner/Intermediate Trad climbing
DESCRIPTION:Hey everyone\,\n\nKeith\, Arthur\, Melissa and I will be headin
 g to Mount Piddington for a beginner/intermediate trad climbing trip on Sa
 turday. Trad climbing involves placing your own protection (cams and nuts)
  in the rock as you go\, rather than clipping bolts like sport climbing. H
 aving some prior skills such as lead climbing and belaying will help you g
 et the most out of this trip but are not essential. We can set up top rope
 s if you want to practice mock leading or practice placing gear. Check out
  the Crag page here.\n\nGear you will need (if you don't have your own it 
 can be provided at Boree log):\n\n 	Harness\n 	Helmet\n 	Belay device + lo
 cking carabiner (ATC\, Gri Gri etc. )\n 	Safety (eg sling and locking cara
 biner)\n 	Climbing shoes\n\nYOU must bring:\n\n 	2L water\n 	sunscreen\n 	
 food and snacks for the day\n 	warm clothes\n 	backpack to carry everythin
 g\n 	chalk\, if you have it/want it (this can't be borrowed on the day)\n\
 nYou need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trip
 s. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can t
 hen sign up for another trip\, this just makes it easier for volunteer tri
 p leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable\, trip lea
