ny\n\n“You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend th
ese trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected y
ou can then sign up for another trip\, this just makes it easier for volun
teer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable\,
trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly”\n\n\n\nHello!\n\nHave
you ever wanted to attach yourself to a rope and slide down a cliff?\n\nEv
er been to the Three Sisters lookout and wondered what was over the edge?\
n\nWow do I have the perfect trip for you!\n\nThere are few abseil trips a
s spectacular as this one while being beginner friendly :)\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nW
e will start the day by driving about 30 mins from the campground and scro
unging street parking in Katoomba before walking about 10 minutes to Malai
ta Point Lookout.\n\nElliot and I will then teach/refresh you how to absei
l\, before we start abseiling off larger and larger cliffs\, and enjoying
a little bit of rock scrambling before finding ourselves square in the val
ley at Federal Pass.\n\n951 steps later\, you'll conquer the Furber Steps
before finding yourself at Coles/The Pub/Your Car for the trip back to cam
pground\, in time for dinner and festivities.\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWhat to br
ing:\n\n Rain jacket\n\n (it is very windy on the side of a cliff and yo
u will get very cold)\n We won’t get wet (unless it rains\, which it ma
y)\n\n\n Comfortable enclosed shoes and hiking clothes are fine.\n Glove
s\n\n (optional but leather/synthetic work gloves are ideal for protectin
g your hands from the friction of the rope)\n\n\n Headtorch\n Lunch and
snacks to share\n 2L of water\n\nTechnical Gear:\n\nIf you have the below
technical gear\, then please BYO. Otherwise\, collect this from the campg
 round in the morning.\n\n Harness\, Helmet\, Safety sling\, Figure 8 desc
 ender\, 2 locking carabiners\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\nIf you are afraid of h
eights\, this trip is NOT for you!\nWe say beginner friendly\, but standin
g on the edge of a valley can be scary for anyone. If you are already afra
id of heights\, then please do not join this trip.\n\n&nbsp\;\nSounds like
  fun?\nSign-ups open: 7am\, Monday 5 October\n\nIn your signup comment\, p
lease include:\n\n Your abseiling experience\n Your general outdoors exp
erience\n A confirmation that you are not afraid of heights\n If you wer
e a kitchen utensil\, what kind would you be and why?\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSee yo
 u there :)
