SUMMARY:SATURDAY BL - CLAUSTRAL Canyon [Intermediate/Advanced]
DESCRIPTION:Alex\, Neil's\, and I (Jason) will be running an intermediate/a
 dvanced trip through Claustral Canyon on the Saturday of Boree Log. Come j
 oin us for one of the best canyons in the Blueies.\nYou need to be approve
 d for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for o
 nly ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another
  trip\, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aw
 are that as the weather is unpredictable\, trip leaders may need to alter 
 trips accordingly.\n\nThis is a long day out (8+ hours) and involves sever
 al long and cold swims\, tricky abseils through the "Blackhole of Calcutta
 "\, lots of scrambling\, and a long\, tricky walk out. You will be rewarde
 d with some impressive canyon formation\, glowworms\, and some glamour pho
 tos on top of "Hulk's Fist". It is important that all participants have ex
 perience in wet canyons. Have a read of the track notes here.\n\n&nbsp\;\n
 \nPlease make you sure bring ALL required gear. Some gear is available to 
 borrow from camp but it is limited - if you have any of your own please br
 ing it!\n\nGear available to borrow from the club:\n\n 	Harness\n 	Helmet\
 n 	3x locking carabiners\n 	1x Figure 8 / Descender\n 	1x Safety sling\n 
 	Drybag\n 	Wetsuit (5mm preferable)\n\nOther gear you MUST bring:\n\n 	Ba
 ckpack that can fit ALL your gear and that can get wet (30L+)\n 	Clothing
 :\n\n 	Enclosed shoes with good grip\, suitable for water and bushwalking
 \n 	Wool or neoprene socks\n 	Boardshorts to wear on top of wetsuit (com
 pulsory to protect the club wetsuits)\n 	Thermals and raincoat\n 	Swimmers
  for under wetsuit\n 	NO COTTON! (this includes socks\, shirts\, pants\, 
 undies\, etc)\n\n\n 	Food:\n\n 	2L of water (minimum)\n 	Lunch\n 	Snacks t
 o share (with me)\n\n\n 	Other:\n\n 	Medication (asthma puffer\, Epipen e
 tc)\n 	Headtorch + spare batteries\n 	Emergency blanket – (can buy from 
 Gear Cupboard for $5 or from chemists\, shops\, etc)\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTo
