SUMMARY:SATURDAY BL - Beginner Climbing Dam Cliffs
DESCRIPTION:Caity and I (Pat) are leading a beginner climbing trip to Dam C
 liffs. It's a chill crag with some nice climbs ranging mostly from beginne
 r to intermediate routes. There's also some deep water soloing/swimming at
  the dam itself which can always be a good way to end (or maybe start) the
  day. You must be approved for Boree Log to attend. \n\nWe'll be setting 
 up topropes on a bunch of climbs\, so you don't need any climbing experien
 ce to join this trip. If you want to learn skills like lead climbing or an
 chor cleaning\, let us know! If you're a competent lead climber and belaye
 r\, you're also more than welcome to join. In the sign up comment let us k
 now how much climbing experience you've got and what gear you have already
 .\n\nWe'll be heading directly from camp in the morning\, so most of the g
 ear you need will be provided - you don't need to hire anything from the g
 ear cupboard beforehand. If you have your own gear\, please bring it with 
 you! For this trip\, you'll need:\n\n 	Climbing gear: Helmet*\, harness*\,
  belay device*\, locking carabiner*\, climbing shoes\, maybe chalk bag.\n\
 n 	* These will be provided on the day if you haven't got your own\n\n\n 	
 For clothing: Clothes that you feel comfortable climbing in\, extra layers
  and raincoat in case the weather isn't very favourable. If you want to he
 ad out to the dam or deep water solo\, bring swimmers/a spare change of cl
 othes and towel.\n 	For eating: 2L of water\, food or snacks.\n 	Other gea
 r: sunscreen\, medicines if you need them (asthma puffer\, etc).\n\nPleas
 e mention if you've got a car when you sign up - the number of attendees w
 ill depend on the number of cars we've got available.\n\nYou need to be ap
 proved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up
  for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for
  another trip\, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders.\n\nP
 lease be aware that as the weather is unpredictable\, trip leaders may nee
 d to alter trips accordingly
