DESCRIPTION:\n\nCome join Nick and myself this Saturday for a trip down Emp
 ress Canyon. It's a short canyon but still packs in heaps of excitement!\n
 \nExperienced people are welcome\, but we will have a few spots open to be
 ginners and we can teach you to abseil / make sure you’re safe on the da
 y.\n\nYou will need:\n\n 	Harness*\n 	Descender* (figure 8\, or ATC) and a
  carabiner\n 	Safety sling and carabiner*\n 	Prusik and carabiner*\n 	At l
 east 1.5L water\n 	Food: lunch\, snacks.\n 	Emergency blanket (compulsory
  for all club canyons\, can be bought from the gear cupboard for $5)\n 	He
 lmet*\n 	Wetsuit*\n 	Board shorts (to wear over wetsuit\, compulsory if w
 earing a club wetsuit)\n 	Backpack (big enough to hold everything)\n 	Dry
  bag*\n 	Enclosed Shoes (Volleys or old sneakers are good options)\n 	Woo
 llen socks\n 	Headtorch\n 	Thermals to wear under wetsuit\, or old rain ja
 cket to wear over wetsuit if you get cold\n 	Dry thermals/jumper (not cott
 on!) for emergency\n 	Dry clothes to leave in car\n 	Rain jacket\n 	Sunscr
 een\n 	No cotton (it gets very cold when wet)\n\nItems with an asterisk (
