SUMMARY:Overnight Hike - Glenbrook Loop Faulconbridge to Glenbrook
DESCRIPTION:EDIT: Due to fully booked Euroka Campsites\, we are doing Faulc
 onbridge to Glenbrook\, via Lost Worlds\nTrack notes:\nhttps://hikingthewo

 p://www.david-noble.net/blog/?p=5133\n\nStarting the walk from Faulconbrid
ge station at 9:45 am 21/11\n\nHeya folks!\nJoin us for an overnight hike
around Glenbrook and Euroka ⛰️⛰️⛰️\n\n\nShould be a nice hike!
Beautiful bush\, good chances to get wet if it's hot\, and some interesti
ng indigenous sites.\nNo experience necessary\, but it's fairly hilly so a
reasonable level of fitness is expected.\n\nCurrent plan is to start walk
ing from Glenbrook train station and camp overnight at Euroka campground.
Depending how we're feeling\, we can loop around back to Glenbrook station
\, or extend things a bit to check out the Nepean and end up at Lapstone s
tation. (see track notes below)\n\nWe will be public transporting from Cen
tral Station and\, as such\, there will be no place to leave gear so pleas
e follow the packing list strictly.\nTrackwork!\nThere is currently trackw
ork scheduled for the weekend\, so we'll need to catch a bus to Penrith:\n
Exact timing TBD\, but fairly early in the morning.\nhttps://transportnsw.
info/alerts/details#/6054802\nWhat to bring\n\n Water! - You will need AT
LEAST 3-4 litres of water.\nYou will be turned away at the beginning of t
he trip if you do not bring enough\nThere are some rivers to refill along
the way\, but the water needs treating.\nThere is also apparently tap wate
r available at the evening camp site.\n Tent - due to COVID-19 we're stic
king to 1 tent per person\, unless you're in a shared household.\n Sleepi
 ng bag and mat\n Food – Food for 2 days (2x breakfast\, 2x lunch\, 1x d
inner + snacks). We’ll be doing a lot of exercise so you’ll need food
for energy. We can try to grab some dinner/afternoon tea on the way back\,
but don't rely on it.\nThink quick and easy meals like oats\, cereal\, mu
esli\, sandwiches\, couscous packets. Be aware of garbage as well. Avoid c
anned food as its heavy and bulky.\n Stove/cookware - Whatever you need t
o prepare your meals. Don't forget the gas!\n Sunscreen! - Australian sun
is brutal. You will need to apply every 3 hours or so.\n Hat - Should be
wide brimmed or a bucket hat to protect your ears and neck. You WILL be t
urned away if you bring insufficient sun protection - we don't want to dea
l with heat stroke!\n Hiking clothes – Be logical. Wear comfortable sho
es like joggers or hiking shoes. Bring light clothes because you’ll get
hot hiking\, BUT also bring a jumper in case of bad weather. Optimally\, y
ou want\n\n Joggers\, hiking boots/shoes or trail runners. Hiking boots a
re decent\, but keep in mind they can be heavy.\n Warm clothes (weather c
an vary so be prepared!!)\n Swimwear or something you're happy to get wet
  - there might be opportunity to swim.\n Rain jacket/poncho\n SOCKS! - C
are for your feet! Wool or poly-wool blend optimally\, non-cotton is prefe
rred (gets cold and slimy when wet). I like to have thin liner socks insid
e my thicker hiking socks (nylon business socks are ok) that help wick awa
y sweat and minimize blisters.\n Light\, breathable clothing - optimally
a long sleeve\, collared shirt for sun protection.\n Thermal top can also
be a great layer when cold/wet\n\n\n Rubbish bag - Carry out your own ru
bbish and might grab some more that we come across.\n Hiking Pack - To ca
rry everything. Not any big hiking pack (we wanna stay light!)\, but a wai
st strap is helpful to reduce the weight on shoulders.\n Head Torch – I
f you have one please bring it!\n Water treatment (optional but recommend
ed) - (such as mircopur tablets\, aquatabs) as water quality can’t be gu
aranteed. Nat has spare Iodine too – message if required\n First Aid/Me
dication - bandaids for little cuts and or blisters\, personal medication.
Emergency blanket\, if you have one.\n Toilet Paper - you probably don't
need a full roll. Put it in a drybag or 2 zip-lock bags - you don't want
it wet!! Take out the cardboard tube to save space.\n Sufficient Toiletri
es - feminine hygiene recommended if applicable (It's only overnight\, but
hiking can screw things around)\n Opal Card - We're going via train/bus\
, so bring the card!\n Optional other equipment -- hiking poles\, gaiters
\, compass\, GPS.\n\nMessage us (Nat Shroeder or Lloyd Siharath) on Facebo
ok and/or comment below with your experience\, any gear required (which ca
n be picked up on gear nigh)\, and anything else that's on ya mind 🤙\nT
