DESCRIPTION:YO YO YO ITS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR MY FELLOWS! So cold\, always
  makes me feel like CRAWLING UNDERGROUND AND EXPLORING SOME CAVES! BUNGONI
 A PALOOZA 2024 IS HERE!\n\nRock up on Friday night\, for some awesome cavi
 ng adventures on the weekend before heading home on Sunday evening.\n\nFun
  fact: Spelunking is NOT chucking big rocks in ponds to make cool noises! 
 ::0 It is in fact the art/sport of exploring the inner cavities of mother 
 Earth\; CAVING! Bungonia Palooza is a weekend for cavers (and aspiring cav
 ers) of all levels to come to hit the subterraneous wonderland of Bungonia
 . Think of it as a mini winter Boree Log… but less sunlight more crawlin
 g. It can include abseiling\, ascending\, crawling\, squeezing\, walking\,
  scrambling\, climbing\, heights\, confined spaces\, and maybe a bit of da
 rkness.\n\n&nbsp\;\nCarpooling Sheet: Please make sure to get in contact w
 ith the driver and confirm before putting your name down!\n&nbsp\;\nSign U
 p Instructions\nDue to the number of people coming to Bungonia Palooza\, t
 here are a few steps to signing up. Please read carefully in order to make
  sure you get what you want out of the weekend.\n\nBookings for the main e
 vent will open on Sunday 7th July at 9pm. Individual trips will be release
 d for sign up the following week. \n\n 	\n\n 	Sign up for this trip on th
 e UNSWOC page! Make sure in your booking to include the following –\n\n 
 	your name\, facebook link\,\n 	skill level (see below) - any previous cav
 ing / climbing / rope experience\,\n 	Pertinent medical issues\,\n 	if you
  have a car\, and\n 	MOST IMPORTANTLY\, if you had to pick a colour to eat
 \, which one would it be?\n 	Bungonia Palooza is in high demand and you wi
 ll not be accepted unless you follow these instructions!\n\n\n 	Have a loo
 k at the trips offered below and your skill level and choose which trips (
 + backups) you want to go on. These will be released as individual trips i
 n about a week.\n 	Sign up for ONE Saturday and ONE Sunday trip. If you do
  not get accepted on your first choice trip then you may sign up for a dif
 ferent one. (Same format as Boree Log!). You must be signed up to this mai
 n event to sign up to individual trips\n 	Facebook groups will be made to 
 organise car pooling\, tent sharing\, gear hauling etc.\n 	Bring $10 for t
 he National Parks camping fee (the club will subsidise the other $14). For
  those with cars\, there is also a national parks day entry fee\, this can
  be paid at the campsite via eftpos.\n 	Pack your gear and come caving!!\n
 \n\n\n&nbsp\;\nSkill levels:\n  \n\n\nBeginner\n\n\nWhat is a cave? what i
 s a rope? You might not know but you are keen to find out! General scrambl
 ing ability is compulsory.\n\n\n\nIntermediate\n\n\nMaybe you’ve been ca
 ving before. Maybe you haven’t\, but you’ve been lead climbing or cany
 oning or have other rope skills and experience at heights.\n\n\n\nAdvanced
 \n\n\nYou have experience ascending ropes in caves – jumarring or prussi
 cking\n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\nTHE TRIPS:\n(Roughly in order of difficulty)\n   \
 n\n\nGrill Cave\nBeginner – anyone fit can come.\nAn pretty Bungonia cav
 e with lots of ladders and caverns filled with stalagmites and stalactites
 . Explore the extensive maze\, and marvel at 20th century engineering. You
  might even get to see a magic trick!\n\n\nB4-5 Cave\nBeginner – anyone 
 fit can come.Previous scrambling experience preferred.\n\nA super fun hori
 zontal cave in Bungonia.\nVery maze-like with lots of squeezes\, scrambles
 \,  climbs and crossroads. There'll be some bouldering\, but with handlin
 es! Keep an eye out for some Cave Fossils as you stop over at Kings Cross 
 on your way into Hogan's Hole.\n\n\nB4-5 Extension\nIntermediate – must 
 be comfortable with confined spaces\n\n\nDare to explore the  longest hor
 izontal cave at Bungonia\, the B4-5 Extension! Take a step (or crawl) off 
 the beaten path\, and test your limits with squeezes and scrambles. For th
 ose who make it to the end\, you'll be rewarded with some nice lakeside vi
 ews! (allegedly)\n\n\n\nBLOWFLY CAVE\nIntermediate – people with rope ex
 perience preferred.\n\n\nSuper fun cave with a good mix of some interestin
 g squeezes\, scrambles\, and a bit of abseiling/ ascending amongst some un
 ique geological features. Feel the dragon's teeth as you slither down into
  the spacious aven\, or choose to test yourself with the kidney squeeze!\n
 \n\n\nAcoustic Pot\nIntermediate – people with rope experience preferred
 .\n\n\nHave you ever stared into the abyss and the abyss stared back? This
  cavernous cave has an amazing abseil into the depths that must be seen to
  be believed\, with some optional scrambling and crawling at the end.\n\n\
 n\nDrum\n\n\nAdvanced - Must have previous ascending experience\n\nAn inte
 resting and technical cave\, you'll be descending down the biggest single 
 drop pitch in the Australian mainland (or so they say). Traverse down the 
 pitches for some nice formations and chambers - you might even get to say 
 hello to some cute cave critters!\n\n\nArgyle\n\n\nAdvanced - Must have pr
 evious ascending experience\n\nVenture into the deepest cave at Bungonia i
 f you dare\, with over 100m of abseiling and then ascending. Be sure to pa
 ck extra flashlights and batteries\, as this will be a long day.\n\n\nCAVE
  EXPLORATION\nIntermediate – people with rope experience preferred\n\n\n
 You’ll never know what caves you could find. Come jump into a variety of
  holes with varying levels of difficulty and technicality.\n\n\n\nCANYON -
  TBD\nIntermediate – super keen people with or without rope experience.\
 n\n\nThere are a few beautiful\, dry-ish canyons around bungonia for those
  who enjoy seeing the sky. Abseil past big waterfalls and trek out through
  the Bungonia National Park. Best of all\, no rope ascending! You might st
 ill get a little wet\, so pack those swimmers!\n\n\n\nDiscovery Bushwalk\n
 Beginner – anyone fit can come.\n\n\nThis will be a lovely\, speed ignor
 ant bushwalk through the trails of Bungonia National Park. You'll be immer
 sed in the natural wonders where the sun does shine\, with the aim of spot
 ting some of the diverse wildlife and unique flora of the area. Pack your 
 camera and magnifying glasses\, plants may never look the same to you agai
 n!\n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\nTHE GEAR:\n\n 	Caving related gear will be
  advised on the page for each day trip (largely can be borrowed from the c
 lub)\n 	For camping\, the advised gear includes:\n\n 	TENT (unless you wan
 t to snuggle with some possums)\n 	WARM SLEEPING BAG (Bungonia can reach s
 ub-zero at night)\n 	SLEEPING MAT (This keeps you insulated from the cold 
 ground!)\n 	WARM CLOTHES FOR AFTER CAVING\n 	FOOD FOR THE WEEKEND (breakfa
 st\, lunch and dinner!)\n 	IMPLEMENTS TO COOK/EAT SAID FOOD\n 	There is dr
 inking water available from the campsite\, but the fountain doesn't always
  work. Would recommend bringing your own water just in case.\n\n\n\nGet ke
 en for a weekend of cave crazy adventures\, see you there!\n🦇The Caving
