SUMMARY:Intro to Abseiling (WEDNESDAY 16th)
DESCRIPTION:Our biggest weekend trip\, Boree Log\, is around the corner and
  we will do plenty of canyoning trips. For most canyons\, it's necessary t
 hat you know how to abseil and how to use a safety back-up. So if you want
  to learn or practice more\, this is the time!\n\n\n\nHayden and I (Maria)
  will be running an Intro to Abseiling session on Wednesday 16th 5-8 pm at
  Clovelly cliffs. This trip is focused to people who haven't abseil before
  / have abseiled but need a refresher / want to further their abseiling sk
 ills (abseiling on belay\, releasable abseil\, etc). We will aim to cover\
 n\n 	How to use a Personal Anchor System (PAS) or Safety Sling\n 	How to u
 se an ATC for abseiling\n 	How to tie a prusik hitch as a safety back-up (
 classic prusik and French prusik)\n 	How to start tricky/overhang abseils 
 safely\n 	Abseiling technique (body position\, ledges\, rope wearing\, etc
 .)\n 	How to close the system and provide a belay (Fireman belay or top ro
 pe belay)\n\nWe will meet at the gear cupboard at 5 pm sharp\, grab the ge
 ar\, and drive to Clovelly (10 min). If you cannot make it at 5 pm write i
 n the comments what's the earliest you can get to Clovelly cliffs. If you 
 have a car write it down and you'll get preference. What to bring\n\n 	Har
 ness\, helmet\, ATC\, safety sling\, prusik cord\, 3x locking carabiners (
 bring yours if you have them\, will borrow from gear cupboard on the day o
 therwise)\n 	Comfortable clothes (it's outdoors\, bring a jacket\, could g
 et a bit wet depending on waves)\n 	A headtorch (we will finish in the dar
 k)\n 	Water / snacks / sunscreen / personal meds / good vibes :)\n\nNice a
