SUMMARY:Intro to Abseiling (WEDNESDAY 23rd)
DESCRIPTION:Our biggest weekend trip\, Boree Log\, is around the corner and
  we will do plenty of canyoning trips. For most canyons\, it's necessary t
 hat you know how to abseil and how to use a safety back-up. So if you want
  to learn or practice more\, this is the time!\n\n\n\nHenry and I (Maria) 
 will be running an Intro to Abseiling session on Wednesday 23rd 5-8 pm at 
 Clovelly cliffs. This trip is focused to people who haven't abseil before 
 / have abseiled but need a refresher / want to further their abseiling ski
 lls (abseiling on belay\, releasable abseil\, etc). We will aim to cover\n
 \n 	How to use a Personal Anchor System (PAS) or Safety Sling\n 	How to us
 e an ATC for abseiling\n 	How to tie a prusik hitch as a safety back-up (c
 lassic prusik and French prusik)\n 	How to start tricky/overhang abseils s
 afely\n 	Abseiling technique (body position\, ledges\, rope wearing\, etc.
 )\n 	How to close the system and provide a belay (Fireman belay or top rop
 e belay)\n\nWe will meet at the gear cupboard at 5 pm sharp\, grab the gea
 r\, and drive to Clovelly (10 min). If you cannot make it at 5 pm write in
  the comments what's the earliest you can get to Clovelly cliffs. If you h
 ave a car write it down and you'll get preference. What to bring\n\n 	Harn
 ess\, helmet\, ATC\, safety sling\, prusik cord\, 3x locking carabiners (b
 ring yours if you have them\, will borrow from gear cupboard on the day ot
 herwise)\n 	Comfortable clothes (it's outdoors\, bring a jacket\, could ge
 t a bit wet depending on waves)\n 	A headtorch (we will finish in the dark
 )\n 	Water / snacks / sunscreen / personal meds / good vibes :)\n\nNice ab
