SUMMARY:Intro to Abseiling (FRIDAY 18th)
DESCRIPTION:Our biggest weekend trip\, Boree Log\, is around the corner and
  we will do plenty of canyoning trips. For most canyons\, it's necessary t
 hat you know how to abseil and how to use a safety back-up. So if you want
  to learn or practice more\, this is the time!\n\n\n\nAsh and I (Maria) wi
 ll be running an Intro to Abseiling session on Friday 18th 5-8 pm at Clove
 lly cliffs. This trip is focused to people who haven't abseil before / hav
 e abseiled but need a refresher / want to further their abseiling skills (
 abseiling on belay\, releasable abseil\, etc). We will aim to cover\n\n 	H
 ow to use a Personal Anchor System (PAS) or Safety Sling\n 	How to use an 
 ATC for abseiling\n 	How to tie a prusik hitch as a safety back-up (classi
 c prusik and French prusik)\n 	How to start tricky/overhang abseils safely
 \n 	Abseiling technique (body position\, ledges\, rope wearing\, etc.)\n 	
 How to close the system and provide a belay (Fireman belay or top rope bel
 ay)\n\nWe will meet at the gear cupboard at 5 pm sharp\, grab the gear\, a
 nd drive to Clovelly (10 min). If you cannot make it at 5 pm write in the 
 comments what's the earliest you can get to Clovelly cliffs. If you have a
  car write it down and you'll get preference. What to bring\n\n 	Harness\,
  helmet\, ATC\, safety sling\, prusik cord\, 3x locking carabiners (bring 
 yours if you have them\, will borrow from gear cupboard on the day otherwi
 se)\n 	Comfortable clothes (it's outdoors\, bring a jacket\, could get a b
 it wet depending on waves)\n 	A headtorch (we will finish in the dark)\n 	
 Water / snacks / sunscreen / personal meds / good vibes :)\n\nNice abseili
