SUMMARY:Intermediate Mountain Biking Trip - Manly Dam
DESCRIPTION:***Postponed - due to ongoing rain trails are closed. We’ll r
e-announce this trip soon with a new date ***\n\nHi all\,\n\nGet stoked be
cause the club's next mountain biking trip is here! Jack Caine and I are g
oing to be running an intermediate trip to Manly Dam on Sydney's Northern
 Beaches\, Sunday the 10th of August.\n\n\n\nIf you're keen to come along\,
read on for all the important info.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWhere:\n\n We'll be he
ading to Manly Dam on Sydney's Northern Beaches. This is a blue difficulty
\, intermediate loop well suited to anyone who has some prior mountain bik
ing experience\, OR is a confident normal bike rider and wants to give mou
ntain biking a try.\n Exact meeting spot will be confirmed with trip atte
ndees\n If you do not have a car\, the easiest way to get to Manly Dam is
probably via the ferry from Circular key to manly\, then a 6.5km ride to
the trailhead.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWhen:\n\n Sunday the 10th of August - weathe
 r dependent. Probably looking at a 10am meet time.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWhat to B
ring:\n\n A mountain Bike! - Unfortunately the club does not have any for
rent\, so if you don't have one\, try kindly asking a friend who's about
the same size as you.\n\n Make sure the bike works! We will not be availa
ble to do maintenance on people's bikes once we arrive on the Sunday. Plea
se check your bikes over and make sure they are in working order before th
e weekend rolls around.\n Make sure it is a somewhat competent mountain b
ike. While we definitely don't expect everyone to have super flashy bikes\
, a basic mountain bike with front suspension\, working brakes and decent
offroad tires is a must! If you're unsure if your bike will handle the tra
ils\, just send me a message.\n\n\n A bike helmet - No rock climbing helm
ets please\n Any other protective gear you might own (e.g. knee pads\, gl
oves)\n Water and Snacks (enough to keep you fueled for a few hours).\n
Sports clothes to ride in.\n Personal Medication\n Some basic bike spare
s (e.g. spare tube for your size wheels) - the trip leaders can not carry
all spares for all bikes so bring anything you think might be important\n
Excitement and stoke for a great day on the trails.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWhat to
Expect\n\n Manly Dam is a great loop with a bit of everything. The trail
s are fairly rocky (like most trails in Sydney) and any sections of trail
above an intermediate/blue difficulty typically have an easier ride around
. Depending on group energy and skill levels we can adjust the loop a litt
le bit as we ride\n Expect a few hours on the bike\, with breaks\, until
we arrive back at the starting point of the loop.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPlease mak
e sure to include any prior mountain biking experience in your signup comm
ent. As well as how you will be getting to the trails (bonus points if you
can get yourself and another person there).\n\nAs always\, we can only ta
ke so many people so please don’t be disheartened if you don’t manage
to get a spot. We will have more trips in the future.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nIf you
have any questions\, feel free to shoot me a message on facebook (https:/
 /www.facebook.com/bennett.frerck.1/)\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n***TRIP FULL: last avai
lable spot serves as a wait list in case people can no longer make the tri
p and spots open up***\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nKeen to see you all there.\n\nBennett
