For those of you who have been to a Festival of the Canyons trip it will be in a similar v ein.\n\nWhere will be staying?\nWe will be camping in Dunphy’s Camping M egalong Valley.\nHere’s a google link. But for those who don’t like Go ogle……….get onto Megalong valley Road and keep driving\, no turn off s\, all the way to the very end of the road and we will be there. Below I have provided a brief description of what the activities are and where they will be run. Each activity will have a club representative (trip leader)\, these representatives will co-run the trip with the other representatives. Any questions about a specific trip please refer to YOUR clubs rep for the answer\, if they cannot answer come talk Jake Griffiths (UTS).\n\nMore trips will be posted as we get closer to the weekend including a few canyoning trips.\nSaturday:\n\nRock climbing-Begi nners and Intermediates (RS1 a must)\nLocation: Land of the Giants\nhttps: //www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/blue-mountains/historic-wells\nDescri ption:\nLand of the Giants is a great little crag located at Bardens looko ut. It has grades starting from 14 right up to the mid 20’s. We will be setting up some top ropes for those who cannot lead\, but with this in min d I do require everyone to have completed Rock Skills 1. For those who don ’t know what’s in Rock Skills 1\, essentially everyone must have climb outdoors before\, know how to belay\, tie themselves in with a figure 8 a nd general cliff safety. If you have any doubts please contact the trip re presentative of your club.\n\nRock-climbing-Trad + Advance(Sport) \nLocati on:Zig Zag\nhttps://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/blue-mountains/the- zigzag\nDescription:\nFor those who are looking for a little more adventur e on the Saturday of the rock kind\, a group will be heading to Zig Zag Cr ag. This is has a variety of interesting climbs and styles from Trad to Sp ort climbing. I am sure you all understand what is involved in terms of sk ill to come on this trip but for those who don’t please contact the trip representative of your club. Please note\, no top ropes will be set up fo r this trip.\n\nHiking\nLocation:Breakfast Creek and Ironmonger Hill.\nDes cription:\nStarting and ending at the campground this hike covers a variet y of landscapes. We'll first head along Breakfast Creek towards the Coxs R iver and then up and over Ironmonger. We should have excellent views to th e north from the top of Ironpot Mountain and we'll see Aboriginal sharpeni ng grooves. Perhaps also a red belly black snake or two.\nIt's an intermed iate level hike with approximately 5 hours of walking and covering 13 km ( 600m ascent). There are a few steep inclines and declines and a little bit of scrambling.\nThere are a lot of nettles so it's wise to wear long pant s or gaiters.\n\nSunday:\n\nRock climbing multi-pitch\nLocation: Sublime p oint/James Bond\nhttps://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/blue-mountains /main-area\nhttp://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/blue-mountains/black heath-area/area/12013195\nDescription:\nSweet Dreams are made of these…. \nOn the Sunday we will be running some multi-pitch trips. The first trip will be to sublime point\, we may have done Sweet Dreams but there is plen ty of choice in terms of multi-pitches at sublime point to choose from. If there is enough interest and also trip representatives will can split the group in two and those who want to can go to James Bond wall which is ver y close to where we are staying and offers a few shorter multi pitches plu s there is some harder single pitches in the area to do once you’ve got up high and pumped. We are asking that you have had experience with multi- pitches before.\n\n \;\n\nWhat Now?\n\nSo what to do now\, sign up for this trip if you intend on coming along.\n\nOver the next few day’s all the activities will be posted by each clubs representative of their respe ctive trip.
