Our pl an is to start at Staples Lookout &\; hike to Pindar Cave (and back). I t should be a fun hike with pretty views\, an amazing cave and a couple of waterfalls to swim at along the way.\n\nThis is a 20km “moderately chal lenging” hike\, so some hiking experience is necessary. However\, it is a day hike with a well-marked track\, so you don’t need any experience w ith navigation or overnight hiking! 🙂\n\nFollow this link to check out track notes/More Info\n\nAs this is not an overnight hike\, there should b e no need for sleeping bags\, tents etc. You will need the gear listed bel ow\, a comfortable backpack or hiking pack to carry everything in &\; a ppropriate shoes for the hike (sneakers or hiking boots). Feel free to message me or Oli if you have any questions\,\n\n— Caity and Oliver\n \n\n What to bring\n\n RAINCOAT – There has been a lot of rain here re cently\, so there’s a good chance you’ll want this\n Water – at lea st 2-3L is a safe bet\n Lunch/Snacks – Please bring enough food for a f ull day of hiking and snacks that you can eat on the go.\n Comfortable Sh oes/Boots and optimally thick non-cotton socks\n Warm jumper\n Breathabl e clothing (recommended long sleeves and long pants – both for sun prote ction and any potential bush-bashing)\n Insect repellant (if you have it) – we may have some fun with leeches\n Sunscreen/Hat (and extra sunscre en to reapply throughout the day)\n Swimmers &\; towel – if you feel up for it\, there should be a couple of swimming spots and I very much pl an to swim!\n Money (in case we want to celebrate with a trip to a local pub at the end).\n\n\nGetting There\nWoy Woy train station is about a 10-1 5 minute drive from Staples Lookout (our starting point). This is on the N ewcastle/Central Coast train line which runs pretty consistently from Cent ral Station (check Trip View for train times).\n\nAs usual\, we’ll organ ise carpooling among trip participants over the next few days.
