SUMMARY:Saturday Boree Log Intermediate / Advanced Canyoning - Lower Glouce
 ster Falls
DESCRIPTION:Hey guys\,\n\n\n\nWe will be leading a group through the lower
section of Gloucester Falls canyon on the Saturday of Boree Log. As we ha
ve NEVER DONE this part of the canyon\, please only join this trip if you
have a good range of canyoning experience - you should be comfortable with
  river walking\, rock scrambling\, abseiling\, getting yourself on/off rop
e\, self-belaying\, etc.You will need to have ALL your own gear for this c
anyon - if you do not have all of the gear listed below\, try to borrow fr
om a friend as it is unlikely you will be able to borrow from the club (Be
ginners trips get priority for gear).\n\nPlease ensure you bring: shoes wi
th good grip (eg. volleys)\, wetsuit\, harness\, belay device\, safety sli
 ng\, carabiners\, prussik(s) for self-belay\, backpack\, drybag\, lunch /
 snacks\, water bottle\, helmet\, headlight torch\, emergency blanket\, bea
nie\, thermals or warm jacket\, plus a change of clothes to leave in the
car.\n\nAs we do not know this section of the canyon\, we cannot acurately
estimate how long the trip will take. We will however be aiming to leave
camp (all gear packed) at 7AM. This is due to the 1.5hr drive to the start
of the canyon\, plus ~1.5hr walk in. If you are not ready to leave at 7am
\, you may be left behind.\n\nWe know very little about this section of th
e canyon and are unsure of the best exit point so please be prepared for a
n exploratory-style trip. We will be aiming to cut in where we exited on t
he reccy trip\, at a large waterfall around 60m high\, and continuing dow
nstream from there. Be prepared for a number of abseils\, lots of swimming
\, boulder scrambling and bush-bashing.\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions r
egarding the trip\, feel free to contact me via facebook or email: katieli
 llyman2@gmail.com\n\n
