SUMMARY:Boree Log - Beginners Canyoning II
DESCRIPTION:This trip is the reverse of the other beginners canyoning trip\
; we will be doing Grand Canyon first\, and then if time permits we'll do
Empress Canyon. These are short but sweet (and wet!) canyons.\nThere will
 be abseils in both canyons however abseiling experience is not required\;
I will teach you what you need to know.\nWe'll be leaving on Saturday morn
ing\, typical starting time for Boree Log trips is 7-8 am on Saturday.\n\n
Gear Required:\n\n	Shoes that you can get wet and dirty\; volleys are the
staple canyoning shoe\n	Synthetic or woolen socks\, neoprene surf booties/
socks are great too.\n	Wetsuit and/or thermals. You will get entirely wet\
, including an unavoidable 30m swim in Grand\, so you will require at le
ast a pair of thermals or a wetsuit or both. If you don't have thermals yo
u should probably buy them as they are required in the vast majority of ca
nyons and many other adventure sports. Wetsuits are somewhat optional\, th
ough it depends on your resistance to cold\, if you have one bring it (The
club has very limited numbers).\n	Extra jumper (Optional)\n	Old shorts to
protect your thermals\, are optional if you have your own wetsuit\, compu
lsory if you're using a club wetsuit\n	Harness and belay device (The club
can provide some\, but please bring your own if possible)\n	Helmet. A bike
helmet is fine\n	Back pack\, again\, will get wet and dirty.\n	Some lunch
\n	2L of water\n	Dry bags are the best way of keeping your stuff dry so br
ing them if you have them\, otherwise 3-5 plastic bags will do but they ar
e a lot less convenient.\n	COLD COTTON CANNOT COME CANYONING. Cotton will
rob you of any body heat once wet\, synthetic or woolen materials will sti
ll hold warmth when wet. Your shorts are the only acceptable cotton garmen
ts.\n\nAny questions\, feel free to send me a message on facebook.\nLookin
g forward to it :)\n\nTrack notes and information about the canyons:\nhttp
