SUMMARY:Boree log - BEGINNER'S HIKE - Lost city take 2!
DESCRIPTION:UNSWOC ventures to the Lost City.. take two!\n\nDue to bad weat
her the hiking trip to the Lost City last weekend was cancelled. But Liam
and I are determined to make it happen this Boree log!\n\nThis is a very b
eginner-friendly bushwalk along cobbled paths\, winding streams and throug
h dense Australian bush. The walk itself shouldn’t be too long\, taking
from 2 to 3 hours each way. At the end of our walk we’ll come to a huge
dam with lots of jump rocks\, swings and plenty of wildlife! We’ll spend
the majority of the day here swimming before heading up to the Lost city
for a spectacular view of the valley\, the dam and amazing pagodas!\n\nYOU
WILL NEED:\n\n	Sunscreen– Just because summer is over doesn’t mean t
he Australian sun is any less harsh. Make sure you bring lots of sunscree
n and apply every few hours!\n	Water– With the hot weather water is extr
emely important. Bring AT LEAST 2L of water.\n	Lunch– You must provide y
our OWN lunch.\n	Snacks– We’ll be doing a lot of exercise\, so make su
re you bring lots of snacks to keep your energy levels up! Bring things li
 ke nuts\, fruit\, dried fruit\, lollies\, biscuits\, chocolate\, muesli ba
 rs\, etc.\n	Appropriate clothes – Appropriate hiking shoes\, Hat\, ligh
t clothes (you will get hot!)\, a light raincoat or jumper if the weather
  forecast predicts a cold front. SWIMMERS!\n	Head-torch – This is a pret
ty basic bushwalk so if you don’t have a head-torch then don’t panic (
although you should definitely invest in one) BUT if you have one please p
lease bring it. Walking along the fire-trail in the dark will be a lot mor
e pleasant if you can see.\n	First Aid Kit – If you have one. Plenty of
tape for blisters and Band-Aids.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPLAN OF ATTACK:\n\n	At the
VERY LATEST we’ll be leaving the Mt Wilson campground at 8:45AM\, so pl
ease try to be READY at 8.\n	We will be driving into Lithgow to the start
of the walk so please let me know if you will be taking a car to Boree log
as the number of people we can take will greatly depend on this.\n\nHopef
ully this was self-explanatory but if not\, look for Liam Hayes or Matilda
Barlow on the UNSWOC facebook page and send us a message!\n\nCheers!!
