SUMMARY:Beginners Canyoning - Fortress Canyon
DESCRIPTION:Hey guys.\n\nBeginners canyon this weekend. All skill levels ar
 e welcome so if you have just signed up at o-week\, this is your chance to
  get involved!. Expect to get wet. This canyon will require some swimming 
 and some rock jumps\, so you are going to get wet - you cannot avoid it.\
 n\nYou will need to bring:\n\n	A wetsuit or thermals (you can hire a wetsu
 it from the gear cupboard on Wednesday night\, or you can buy a set of the
 rmals from Anaconda for about $35)\n	A harness and Belay device (you can h
 ire this from the gear cupboard on Wednesday night as well)\n	A Helmet
   (you can hire this from the gear cupboard on Wednesday night as wel
 l)\n	A pair of board shorts (to be worn over the wetsuit)\n	A backpack (It
 's going to get wet\, so don't leave your phone in it)\n	Lunch (I suggest 
 something that can get wet if you don't have a dry bag)\n	Other snacks (Fr
 uit\, chocolate\, lollies\, muesli bars - think high energy. Sharing is ca
 ring)\n	At least 1l of water (you can drink the canyon water to refill dur
 ing the day)\n	Enclosed shoes that will be grippy when wet (a cheap option
  are 'dunlop volleys' if you need to buy something)\n	Woolen or synthetic 
 socks (no cotton\, your feet will get cold and you will thank me later)\n	
 sunscreen and/or a hat (to prevent cancer)\n	A towel and dry cloths (thi
 s is optional\, but it is nice to head home in dry cloths. You can leave t
 his stuff in the car)\n\nThe plan will be to drive up on Saturday morning\
 , leaving Sydney at about 8am (details will be given later). Blair and I w
 ill be driving up and have room for 9 people in our cars\, but we are open
 ing the trip up to 15 people. If you have a car and can drive\, let us kno
 w\, otherwise some people will have to get the train up and we can pick yo
 u up from Luera train station.\n\nWe will be doing Fortress canyon and you
  can check out the track notes of it here if you want to spoil it for yo
 urself \;)\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;
