Transport and other details will be worked out in a group facebook co nvo.\n\n \;\n\nYou will need to be fairly fit (a bit of walking) and p referable if you have abseiled before.\n\n \;\n\nDescription:\n\nGener ally in canyons\, you have a bit of a walk in from the road until you reac h the canyon entrance (usually a stream). We then put our wetsuits on and follow the stream down\, abseiling past waterfalls or scrambling around bo ulders. We then have a bit of lunch in the sun (if we are lucky!) and cont inue on for a bit\, before walking back to the car!\n\n \;\n\nGear you will need !\n\n Wetsuit*\n Shorts to wear over your wetsuit to protect it (they will be getting wet and scratched)\n Harness*\, belay plate*\, Helm et*\, 2 locking carabiners*\, Safety sling*\n Woolen socks (do not wear co tton or your feet will be VERY VERY cold)\n Enclosed shoes (these are goin g to get wet and muddy. You can buy cheap ones from k-mart or big w)\n at least 2L of water\n Lunch\n Snacks (for your leaders!)\n Backpack (That yo u dont mind getting wet and can fit all your things)\n Dry bag (these are waterproof bags that go in the backpack to keep your things dry. You can g et them at mountain designs for about $20. We also get 20% discount there - otherwise there might be enough to share).\n Torch (some kind of lightin g device should be brought in the dry bag in the case we run out of sunlig ht!)\n Dry thermals (top and bottom if you are the type that gets easily c old)\n Dry clothes\, shoes and towel (we will leave these in the car to ge t changed into on the way back)\n Petrol money for your driver.\n\n*You ca n hire these items for free (with a deposit) from the gear cupboard. \n\nL et us know if you have any questions.
