SUMMARY:Intro to Caving Skills
DESCRIPTION:Hello all!\nJonah and I are happy to announce the long-awaited 
 INTRODUCTION TO CAVING SKILLS NIGHT.\nThis is the night to attend if you e
 ven think you might be interested in caving (which basically has all the c
 oolest parts of all the other rock sports and none of the downsides)\, or 
 if you’ve already been but want to learn or refresh some techniques. Cav
 ing involves exploring caves (!!) which are cool holes in the ground consi
 sting of 3D labyrinths of tunnels and caverns and sick decorations like st
 alactites and stalagmites and shawls and flowstones. It often involves mud
  and crawling and climbing around and abseiling and jumarring.\nThis begin
 ner-intermediate friendly skills session will cover a few things about wha
 t to expect caving\, some of the ethics and things to look out for\, and t
 hen will dive into a practical on the technical rope work aspects. This wi
 ll include abseiling and cave ladders\, then get into jumarring (rope asce
 nding). You will have the opportunity to test out all different types of c
 ave ascending and descending in a safe and educational environment before 
 being thrown into the bottom of a cave!\nThe Intro to Caving will be held 
 at 6pm on Tuesday the 20th of June. It will be at the Ledge\, so we can go
  for pizzas and beer afterwards at the Flodge.\nHope to see you there!\nIz
