Hi guys,

We’re heading out to Kanangra-Boyd national park this weekend (not far past Jenolan Caves) to do a couple of canyons – Kalang Falls and Dione Dell. Both are mainly dry canyons so wetsuits are not required, although a rain jacket is recommended to protect from the spray of the waterfalls.

Apologies to beginners but this trip is only open to people who have canyoned before, due to the rough and remote terrain and several technical abseils.

You will need to organise all your own gear. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • harness, helmet, belay device, carabiners, prussiks, safety slings
  • food and water, water purification tablets (optional), water bottle
  • backpack, drybag, emergency blanket, headlight torch, matches, sunscreen, whistle, knife
  • rain jacket, warm clothes, long pants (there are stinging nettles!), thermals, other clothes
  • sleeping bag, tent, sleeping mat, cutlery and plates, toilettries

We will be heading up on Friday night and arriving back late Sunday night, however there is the option for people to come for just one day depending on the availability of drivers. Please let me know if you’d like to come just one or both days as I will have to organise transport.

Get excited! 😀
