Brendan (he/him) - President

Function in the Club: Oversee and work with the exec to ensure everyone in UNSWOC can continue to share amazing experiences outdoors.

About me: Loves a yarn, an adventure, perhaps maybe even a few laughs, why not?

Outdoor activities: Mostly climbing, always excited to give anything a go!

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Hanging out with my friends, planning future adventures, and learning new skills.

Advice: Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Linna (she/her) - Secretary

Function in the Club: Lots of typing to help organise the club

About me: I'm an engineering graduate going through a quarter-life crisis. Also extremely faffy

Outdoor activities: Fun fact: I had many firsts with the club, from sport climbing, rogaining, canyoning, caving to bushwalking. So a bit of everything but mainly bouldering and sport climbing. Always keen to try new things!

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Catching up on sleep, finding problems to solve, and daydreaming about the next trip!

Advice: A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence

Jayden (he/him) - Treasurer

Function in the Club: Ensuring we have enough money and stoke to run our amazing activities

About me: I'm incredibly unusual and love the outdoors 😮 Also a massive maths nerd so my time is pretty evenly split between sick outdoors stuff and even sicker number manipulation.

Outdoor activities: I love me some canyoning (especially in winter), climbing, hiking and anything else that gets me away from the city life.

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Currently helping the unigym to run smoothly, but about to get into sustainability analysis so hmu if you wanna indulge me nerding out about numbers and the environment even more.

Advice: Reframe your expectations.

Oli (he/him) - Vice President

Function in the Club: Providing guidance to the current exec based on my experiences in the club and exec, and, working on a few behind the scenes projects for the club operations.

About me: UNSW Engineering Alum now working and enjoying spending my weekends outdoors rather than studying.

Outdoor activities: Cycling, Canyoning, Hiking, Rogaining, Climbing, Caving.

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Working and dreaming of being in the outdoors.

Advice: 1. Give everything a go when the opportunity presents its self. 2. Don't get discouraged if something doesn't work out how you had hoped the first time, every endeavour/adventure has to start somewhere.

Daniel (he/him) - Vice President

Function in the Club: I float around in the ether and help when needed!

About me: Engineer by weekday, canyoner by weekend. How good are water and rocks!?

Outdoor activities: Canyoning! Also sometimes climbing and hiking I guess

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Working in tight narrow spaces with large amounts of flowing water

Advice: It's always canyoning season.

Mali (he/him) - Trip Coordinator

Function in the Club: To schedule trips for the club and make sure cool things keep happening

About me: Have wandering passions for science, art and travel. But I'm always content when out on an adventure

Outdoor activities: Bit of this and that. mostly climbing, canyoning & hiking

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Often a niche new hobby that lasts a month or two. Otherwise chugging through uni and looking up new trip

Advice: Seek out what makes you happy and dont stop learning new things

Brendan (he/him) - Safety Officer

Function in the Club: I just loooovvee safe and sustainable outdoor activities. It's my job to help us all achieve this.

About me: Student at UNSW, lover of canyons. When not at work, you'll find me searching in the bush or brushing up on my language.

Outdoor activities: My first love: Bush-walking. My true love: Canyoning and Rogaining. A fair weather climber.

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? I love to bake, plan for the next adventure, and learning.

Advice: Always double check your safety. Always bring a snickers bar for when you're hungry. Canyon gloves and wetsuit socks are the bee's knees. Be safe kidz.

Jemma (she/her) - Events Officer

Function in the Club: Events Officer

About me: Just finished my mech eng degree at UNSW. I'm also a keen sailor, having done a bit of offshore yacht racing recently. Type 2 fun enthusiast.

Outdoor activities: Mainly climbing and sailing but I dabble in canyoning too

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Daydream about getting outdoors

Advice: It doesn't have to be fun to be fun

Amelia (she/her) - Events Officer

Function in the Club: Ensuring all the club's awesome events run smoothly and that everyone is having a great time

About me: Second year engineering student who really should dedicate more time to engineering than collecting new hobbies

Outdoor activities:I mainly climb, enjoy a bit of hiking and camping, and have just started getting into canyoning. Keen to try a bit of everything and see where it takes me

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Anything and everything, but I do like my baking. The perfect cookie continues to elude me

Advice: No chicken crimpy left behind. Bring more snacks

Pat (he/him) - Head Gear Officer

Function in the Club: Make sure the gear minions stay on top of your late rentals 

Function in the Club: Managing club gear hire, chasing people up for said gear and obsessively tidying the gear cupboard.

About me: Just trying to climb lots of rocks and escape Sydney. Oh and studying I think.

Outdoor activities: Mostly climbing - bouldering, sport, trad, anything in between. Keen for pretty hikes and can even be convinced into a canyon if the sun's out.

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Sleeping, playing board games, and trying to get outside again.

Advice: If we're not supposed to dance, why all this music?

Amelia (She/her) - Gear Officer

Function in the Club: Getting people the gear they need for awesome trips and keeping track of everything

About me: Love the outdoors and any am open to any adventure, studying engineering is a side plot

Outdoor activities: Will always come back to climbing but love anything with ropes or anything snow related, skiing, camping, hiking, climbing mountains... always finding new things to try too

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Planning the next trip... and sometimes have time to tick things off my massive list of diy projects... (sewing, woodworking etc. )

Advice: Surround yourself with people who inspire you and go on amazing trips

Aaron (He/him) - Gear Officer

About me: Hi, I'm Aaron, I am a 4th year university student at UNSW studying Medicine. I joined UNSWOC at the beginning of 2023 and have loved every moment, so I joined the Exec to get more involved.

Outdoor activities: Climbing is my main sport, but I also love just being outdoors and in nature. I have recently tried caving and canyoning and am always ready to try any outdoor activity. I also love being in the water and finding all the fascinating marine creatures.

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? I'm a bit of a nerd, so when I'm not outdoors I'm most likely gaming or watching movies/tv shows. I also love hanging out with my mates and will never say no to a cold beer.

Advice: Try have fun with all things you do in life.

Gabe (he/him) - Arc Delegate

About me:Hey, I'm 20 years old, love to help others where I can! I'm doing a double degree of education and design, currently in my second year. I have doing scouts for over 10 years, and I am with North Sydney SES, which I absolutely love. Other that, I always keep myself busy!

Outdoor activities: Rock climbing, specifically lead and multi pitch climbing.

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? State emergency service, teaching and adventures! Tho a solid nap goes hard.

Advice: When you get knocked down, it's not about how many times, but about picking yourself back up stronger than before.

Angela (she/her) - Social Media Officer

Function in the Club: Making sure that people see all the rad adventures we go on and keeping everyone is aware of all the events that are happening!

About me: I am almost graduating my degree a year after everyone in my cohort to enjoy my life living in the mountains. I dream to design and build cool houses for everyone

Outdoor activities: Climbing! bouldering! canyoning! hiking (on the way into the crag and out of canyons)

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? I enjoy dabbling in random creative projects and singing along to banging tunes until I lose my voice when I am not touching rock

Advice: Ask all the questions! live, laugh, learn like there's no tomorrow

Alfie (he/him) - Training and Sustainability

Function in the Club: Upskill all our amazing trip leaders and participants, helping grow the club in a safe and sustainable way!

About me: Second year Mech Eng student who hates faff and loves making work for Brendan the safety officer.

Outdoor activities: Canyoning, Climbing, Bushwalking.

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? Studying takes up most of my time, don't have much of life outside of that and the outdoors...

Advice: Don't be afraid to push your boundaries, latch on to people more skilled that you and be dragged along for the ride.

Ryan (he/him) - Web Officer

Function in the Club: Keep the gears turning on the website, make sure the trip signups work, improve things here and there, and make sure UNSWOC stays online!

About me: I love outdoor activities riding, climbing, canyoning, but also computers, UX/UI and software. I hoppe to improve the mobile web experience.

Outdoor activities: Climbing, Canyoning, Mountain Biking, Hiking

What do you get up to when you’re not outdoors? When I'm not struggling to push myself up a rock face, I'll complete little projects in blender, or rest my body and play some games. I also have work, but we don't speak about that.

Advice: Try to be a little out of your comfort zone; when you've got the energy for it.
